HubSpot

Technical Lead (2022–2026) · Senior Software Engineer (2021–2022)

I joined HubSpot as the first frontend engineer on Sandboxes and grew into Tech Lead for 3 senior engineers across the Sandboxes, Multi-Account Management, and Account Cleanup teams. Over five years, Sandboxes grew from a 20-user alpha to 40%+ of HubSpot’s enterprise install base, and its growth was still accelerating when I left.

My biggest project was Deploy to Production, which had long been one of the largest roadblocks for upmarket customers. I owned the deploy UI flow in close partnership with Product Design, and I designed the logic that finds asset dependencies and detects conflicts during a deployment. The launch unlocked significant recurring revenue and opened Sandboxes up to more enterprise customers.

I proposed and built a shared UI component library used by three frontend teams: Sandboxes, Multi-Account Management, and Partner Portability. It saved days of design and engineering time and kept the UX consistent across all three. I also built an internal debugging app end-to-end so customer support and non-technical users could triage sandbox issues themselves instead of waiting on engineering.

Most recently, I brought Sandboxes into HubSpot’s Breeze AI assistant with 10+ MCP tools and 3+ AI skills, so users can pull data and take actions through chat. I also used AI skills to automate content collection when new assets are onboarded to the Portability Framework, which cut down on manual work.

Effective School Solutions

Lead Software Engineer (Contract) (2019–2023)

I architected and built the company’s corporate website with React, Redux, Salesforce, Marketo, and AWS (Lambda, CloudFront, S3). I also worked closely with designers to build a blog and a COVID-19 resource hub with educational tools and resources to support the mental health of children in K-12 schools.

Bunch, Inc.

Senior Software Engineer (2017–2021)

At Bunch I built enterprise video and digital signage products for some of the world’s largest companies. I led the design of the company’s first React Native app, which let enterprise teams create and share video as an alternative to meetings and email. For that app I built direct messaging with cross-team and external user support, plus an upload queue manager that handled concurrent uploads on web and mobile.

For the digital signage platform, I helped build a content scheduling system running on 10,000+ devices across trading floors and offices at multiple Fortune 500 companies. I also built a Zoom Room integration that let users create and join meetings from dedicated hardware, with a remote control for running meetings from any phone or computer. I also drove the frontend for a real-time monitoring and reporting platform for enterprise video and live broadcasts, which served 50,000+ users a day.

I also worked directly with customers as the first line of support for 5+ enterprise clients. I set up an end-to-end QA process across all our applications, which reduced support tickets and freed the team to focus on building.

Portfolio Evaluations, Inc.

Investment Analyst (2013–2016)

Before moving into software, I spent three years as an investment analyst. I produced performance reports for institutional clients using quantitative and qualitative analysis and a proprietary mutual fund scoring system. I was also the primary client contact for portfolio rebalancing, custodian and investment manager searches, and asset allocation studies. Turning complex data into clear decisions for clients still shapes how I build products.
